These images taken in Garfield Park, on the Southside of Indianapolis, Ind., were taken the afternoon of Feb. 25, 2011, the day after a 3-inch snowfall in Central Indiana, to use for high-dynamic range (HDR) treatment. In HDR, multiple images are captured of the same scene (I used three per scene), with each of the three images having a slightly different exposure -- one at normal metered exposure, one slightly underexposed and one slightly overexposed. The three images are then processed through special HDR software afterward to cull optimum detail for melding into a final, single image. In this shoot, I used three photos for each image and bracketed most of my exposures at values of -1.5, 0, +1.5. With one or two of the images, I increased the values to -2, 0, +2.
